Overclock temps to high?

Hey guys,

Had a crack at overclocking my I7 4790k for the first time last night. Got it stable at 1.2 v on 4.5ghz. However, I was reaching temps at around 80c in AIDA64. Is this too much? I noticed that my ring multiplier was stock at 4.4ghz with 1.2 v- would this be to high and effect the temps? I have a H100i gtx water cooler.

I know this is a fairly common question so thanks in advance for any help, much appreciated.

Yes that is a bit too hot. You usually never want to see your cpu go 65c or higher due to heat damage. I'm not sure about your ring multiplier question maybe someone else with more overclocking experience then me can help you.
