Before i describe my questions, here are my specs:

  • i7 5930k
h110 GT (Noctua 140mm Redux fans - HIGHLY recommend these, airflow is so good also very quiet)
    Asus x99 Deluxe
    Dominator Platinum 4x4GB @ 3000
    980ti SC
    2 SSD Samsung Pro 1TB
    1 1tb HDD
    Corsair 1000i psu

So im no expert on overclocking but i know enough to get around.

My OC settings (these are the things i have changed):
-XMP (Turned BLK/Strap back to 100 Though)
-CPU Ratio (all cores) @ 45
-Ram @ 2666
-Core Voltage @ 1.2

All that giving me only 60c on load

Now my question is; What will help me get the ram closest to 3000MHz because when i go to 2933 its unstable when stressing and so is 3000

Also should i touch the cache(uncore) ratio? its default is set to 24 but ive seen tuts where they move it right under there clock speed, like if i did it i would change it to 44.

Any other tips is much appreciated. Voltage tips are good, i want to have an efficient OC

Yeah so far im running them at 2666 MHz which is fine i was just wondering if i could get 2933 or even 3000 to be stable. Honestly i havent touched the memories times table; Dont know much about it.

Is it overly complicated because im fine with my 4.5GHz / 2666 but wouldnt mind getting closer to 3000 :p

So far with this setup its totally stable.Passing Extensive load test, rendering videos, playing games, etc... The temps have been awesome only getting to 60c

Gskill usually recommends going for 2800 with their memory some (few) can actually pull 3000 I'd give 2800 a shot bit not a big deal either way. However if you merely changed the speed to 2933 you had no shot with the stock 2133 timings. Try enabling XMP and see if it works. If not there is probably a 2800 XMP setting
