Good evening all,

I'm having some serious trouble with my PC. I could use some help

Specs:
https://gyazo.com/1bf97a9ad99b7a590ca55c2cfcb27344

UPGRADED GPU and CPU.
Asus strix gtx 960 4gb

FX-8320 3.5ghx 8core (not overclocked) using a Cooler Master Hyper TX3 heatsink. Going to swap it out for a Hyper 212 EVO soon.

I just put this GPU and CPU in the PC last friday (11/20). They replaced a HD 7850 GPU and a Phenom II x4 965 3.4ghz quad CPU.
So in the beginning after the upgrade, my monitor would randomly shut off during gaming. It'll go to a black screen, and the power light goes from blue to orange and it reads no signal. When this happened, holding the power button would not turn it off. I have to go to the back of my PC case and flip the switch back there to cut off power. Once I do this, I can instantly reboot and it all works. Holding the main power button on the top of my case works again when not in this monitor-dead state. Since then the problem seems to have become worse & now the PC will just completely shut down when gaming.

Fixes attempted:
Geforce Experience says my drivers are up to date.
I flashed the BIOS for my motherboard with the newest update yesterday to make sure the 8320 was fully supported
Power supply @550W not adequate? I was told this PSU work fine with this, but also that it wouldn't and I'd need a better one.

Possible problems:
Working fine until 45min+ gaming sounds like it's overheating? The air coming out of the top of my case is warm after this happens, but Open hardware monitor reads my CPU temps in the ~50-55 area when gaming. I think it peaked once around 62C.
GPU temps when gaming are normally around 50-55C.

I just don't want to buy a new PSU without knowing if that will fix my problem.

Thanks Toms Hardware!]

Edit: I cleaned out all the dust with canned air 5 days ago when I put the new parts in.

SR-71, Could you elaborate please? By how much is the PSU inadequate? Although I know not 100% accurate, those PSU estimate calculators that I could find suggests my build should be taking ~480W.

Thanks!
