Dear friends, I have an Asus Maximus hero viii mobo. I also have an i7 6700k. Whenever I power up my system I get q code 53 and no signal on my monitor. I have tried reinstalling my ram many times( Crucial ballistix 16gb ddr4 2400 mhz udimm 1.2V). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try with each stick individually in slot 1, no joy, try in slot 3 from CPU. Also might try loosening your CPU cooler then snugging it back down, not overly tight, just screw tight, if too tight in a corner or side it can throw the MC (memory controller off.

I'm having the same issue with the pc I just finished building. Asus maximums viii hero alpha, I7-6700k, corsair vengeance lpx 2400mhz ddr4. Getting the same q code 53. Can't find any answers other than the mobo isn't compatible with the speeds it states except on a select few kits they list in the manual. Would have been nice to know before I bought the ram.

I actually did a bios flash, but it didn't fix the issue. I'm heading to best buy to see if they have any of the ram listed as compatible in the manual, since the Damn Asus support site keeps saying it's down.
I fear that it may be a bad dim(tried single card in all 4 dims) or memory controller damaged from cpu cooler install. Though I was careful, it's my first build so it's possible.

They had 1 kit of ddr4. Not on the list, but it's default jdec speed. Hoping I can post with this, change the bios to accept 2400mhz then put my other ram in and return the best buy ram. :)

OK, so if anyone is actually curious. I installed the PNY 2133 kit from best buy, and the memory error is no longer present. Though there was a new error, I forget the number, but narrow'd it down to a loose Sata 3.0 cable. THEN there was a new error. I had reached POST without the GPU installed....went to put the 980ti back into the mother board, and boot up......it would not POST. Soooo I'm back to trouble shooting. For being my first build this is turning into a pain, though I'm learning a lot more than if I hadn't had these issues. I'm attempting to swap the PSU cables around. being that there's 2 cables going to the GPU, I'm hoping that for some reason that's the only issue. I'll update later.

If q- code 53 shows up, it means there is an incompatibility or problem with the RAM you selected. Check page 1: 12 for all the compatible Ram options you can get.

Hi, I've been getting this QCode 53 with my new build - 6700K on the viii impact with 3000MHz Corsair LPX (Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 is listen in the the user guide as compatible). I have flashed to latest BIOS successfully. Can those with the same issue boot after resetting CMOS? I can boot and run absolutely fine although the default RAM speed is set to 213MHz, but even if I restart and enter the BIOS to set the XMP profile for the RAM to run at 3000 MHz it works fine. I have my GPU installed too, all working well until I fully shut down. At this point I'm back to square one, the next time I power up the PC it won't post with error 53.

I can't work out what might be faulty as I can actually get my PC to run fine by resetting CMOS each time.
