Im no wiz when it comes to computer upgrades, the most i have done is replace a dead mother board, change graphics card and change fan. Sure following instructions to install somethings easy, but its difficult to figure out what exactly you need to install.

So here is my question, how would i go about upgrading my Cpu from what i currently have for gaming? There are so many different cpus its overwhelming and idk what to choose one what is compatible. Something within 200 dollars would be nice. Here are some specs on my comp if it helps at all:

My motherboard:

System Manufacturer ASUSTeK Computer INC.
System Model CM5570

Everything else:

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz
Manufacturer Intel
Speed 2.5 GHz
Number of Cores 4
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti
Manufacturer NVIDIA
Chipset GeForce GTX 750 Ti
Dedicated Memory 2.1 GB
Total Memory 3.9 GB
Memory 8.2 GB
Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit
Service Pack 1
Size 64 Bit
Edition Ultimate

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Your CPU is several generations old and while you can upgrade to something like a Q9650, I don't think it would be worth it. If you go with a newer generation of CPU, you will then need a new motherboard and RAM. The CPU upgrade won't help you in gaming, But you could get a better graphics card and see a nice boost in your gaming. A GTX 960 or R9 380 are in your budget range provided your power supply is adequate.
