Hello everyone, I was wondering if it's and stupid idea to buy a pc by parts, since it's black friday and cyber monday I was wondering if I should but maybe a 4690k, a motherboard and a case, for a build I have in mind, my budget is low, I have 400 max to spend just now, should I wait and buy all the parts the same day?, will they be outdated?

Buying a pc by parts is the best way to save money and increase the system's performance (assuming you are choosing good components on sale). With the deals going on now, I'd buy them as the sales come up. Nothing will be outdated. There is always a new CPU or GPU but the performance difference is unnoticeable for most pc users.

A K cpu will cost around $215, then a $60 case, and that leaves you with $115 for a mobo. Totally doable. Keep in mind, with the K chip, once you want to overclock you have to throw away the junky intel cooler for a real cooler (at least $20).

A local Fry's has an MSI Z97 Gaming 5 for 88 dollars and a Corsair Graphite 230T for 28, I think its a great deal If I can get it for black friday. and i could also buy a h80i or h60 from corsair.

Fry's is great, but check if you got a Microcenter out there in CA too. The $88 mobo and $28 case is awesome. If you do go CPU cooler from Corsair then don't get anything lower than a H80i. H80i is really good, but noisy. If you want quiet but cool then get a Noctua cpu cooler.

The only Microcenter here is quite far, but they also have good deals, 4690k for 180, the same MSI motherboard for 95, good 8gb ram sticks for under 30, and some tempting cases like the Corsair C70 for 90 bucks, I think Microcenter it's a better choice.
