Worth Upgrading GPU?

Built my system in January 2010 and I know I'm about due for a major upgrade but I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading the GPU before I upgrade everything else. More specifically, I'm curious if the CPU, MB, or any other components would bottleneck the GPU's performance significantly as I'm considering the GTX 970.

Currently running this rig:

CPU: i7 920
MB: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600
PSU: 750W
GPU: Radeon 5870
HD: 500GB SSD
Case: CoolerMaster HAF 932

Awesome, thank you. I'll definitely be running 1080p max and I haven't OC'd the CPU at all but I think I have the CPU cooler (CM Hyper 212 Plus) and enough airflow in the case to do it a little bit.
