Right now i have a sapphire hd 6770 crossfired with a hd 5770. have one 1920x1080 monitor plugged into the hdmi output, one 1280x1024 plugged into the dvi port

I found another 1920x1080 display lying around so i bought a active displayport to hdmi converter and used it to plug that monitor into the displayport but it is not detected at all. shows 'cable not connected' and device manager/catalyst control centre do not recognise it at all

I have looked through the forum for similar threads and none of the fixes suggested has solved this issue. have even tried putting the latest bios on to the card which didnt fix it either

There seems to be more than one version of the hd 6770 floating around judging by people talking about 2 dvi ports or mini DP in the forum. For reference, im using the one with just 1 DP, 1 DVI and 1 HDMI socket

Further info:
I have tried booting the computer with only one monitor connected to the displayport and still got no signal on it. possible issue with the displayport adapter or card itself?

Also, my HD5770 has 2 DVI, 1 HDMI, 1 DP. If i were to flash the 5770 bios on to the 6770, would i be able to use the HD5770 as the primary card to use 2 DVI, 1 HDMI for 3 monitor setup while also maintaining the crossfire ability since hardware wise the two cards are pretty much the same?

Any suggestions?

The monitor probably can't handle display port specs, needs to be hdmi 1.4 above

Is there a easy way to tell if my monitor is HDMI 1.4 capable? I have a Samsung s24d300 and acer s243hl. Neither of them mention hdmi version in the specs

edit: nvm guess neither of mine are compatible, thanks for the answer. ended up disabling crossfire, removed the crossfire bridge and plugged 2 more monitors into the hd5770 for a total of 4 working ones now
