Will upgrading from gtx 680 DirectCU II OC (x2) to titan x bottleneck my system?

Solution
Agreed, NO to TitanX, yes to GTX 980, 980TI or R9 390X. Any of those cards should run fine with your current system/CPU. You may find a small amount of underperformance in some highly CPU intensive games, but you really shouldn't see any significant bottlenecks and in any case the GPU card performance should be dramatically better with any of those three cards than with your current card.

titan is never a good idea for gaming

get the gtx 980 ti

some games dont care how much gpu you have though, like arma 3

so not bottlenecking on everything is impossible

most of the time you should be good =)
