i have 2 drives with raid 1 configured 300 gb sas and 2tb sas .
i removed the 2tb and change the type of raid to raid 0 for 300 gb sas.
now when i plug the 2 tb drive for backup and want to use it as non raid.
but i am unable to do that. what will be the possible solution to use the 2tb as non raid for backups.

Welcome, sergio004!

Well, having that 2 TB inside the system for the RAID 0 backup is not really a backup solution at all. I'd recommend you to put the HDD in an enclosure and use it as an off-site backup drive instead.
In order to be able to change the SATA mode for this drive separately, you'd need a different SATA controller on your MOBO. Plugging it next to the RAID drives will automatically set the 2 TB HDD's mode to RAID mode as well. This is due to the fact that 1 SATA controller can have 1 SATA mode. If you wish this drive to be in AHCI for example, you'd need to put in a different SATA port on the mobo that is not on that same RAID controller.

However, as I already mentioned, it's better to use the HDD externally if you want it to be a backup drive. An example for what I'm saying can be a power surge or overpowering. This potentially could damage the whole system and fry everything inside! That's why it's best to have backups outside the PC configuration.

Hope I was helpful. Keep me posted if you have more questions! :)
