Graphics card update help

I just did a pc rebuild and i want to update my graphics card but I'm not too knowledgeable in this area. Also the case i got is rather small so finding one that fits is difficult too. Currently i am using the 250W PSU that came with the case. Im not opposed to getting a new PSU. I just dont know a good one to getMy current gpu is amd hd 6670
My pc specs are:
Antec Vsk-4350
i5-4690k
GIGABYTE GA-H97M-HD3

Is this for gaming? If so, what type of games and at what resolution are you going for? Lastly what is your budget for a new PSU and GPU? You're definitely going to want to get a new PSU if you plan on any significant upgrade to the GPU.

Yeah its for gaming. I'm trying to play most major games at 1080p. Looking to spend no more than $500 total

I dont think that a full size gpu will fit in this case. I only have about 9.5 in for a graphics card to fit into.
