Hi. I'm looking for a board which is solid, reliable, has good audio (none of the VIA garbage) and will give me room to upgrade the rest of my hardware (possibly with another GPU too). Being easy to overclock with is a must - my current motherboard can't handle anything higher than what I'm currently running, and my cooling system can easily take more punishment (never goes over 25 degrees)

My PC at current is quite cramped though - I had to assemble the whole thing backwards in order to get the radiator to fit. There is barely any space between the CPU pump and the radiator on the top vent of my PC. For this reason, it will be great if the processor is located no closer to that edge of the board.

It's also messy as all hell

My current specs:
M5A78LM/USB3 motherboard
AMD FX 6100 @ 4.3GHz (WILL likely upgrade to FX 6300 or the 8-core variety in the immediate future)
Zotac GTX 960
Several different hard disks and SSDs (new motherboard must have at least 5 or 6 SATA ports, my SSD transfer speed seems to be completely bottlenecked by my current motherboard also)
16GB RAM @1333Mhz

TL;DR: Need motherboard that overclocks very well and will last a long time before an upgrade is needed.

Regarding price range, I want high quality and I'm not afraid of throwing a lot of money at it.

All responses welcome! It would be nice to have a choice between a few good motherboards people recommend.

ASUS 990 series are usually pretty solid and I would get a larger case if i were you from what you have said you may want to look into a full tower case or at least a larger mid tower.

Currently stuck between MSI 990FXA GAMING and M5A99FX PRO R2.0. The MSI board caught my attention with the audio features, but how close is it to the Asus board in terms of OCing/thermals?
