I built my desktop in 2013 with help from all of you guys. It's time to upgrade my HDD which is very old. I'm going to buy a crucial bx1000 500 gb SSD. I also want to upgrade my graphics. I currently have this installed:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127663

it says it has an option to link with another graphics card for double performance or something like that. The thing is I've never attempted an upgrade and I'm worried that I'll be left without a computer for a while. One of my worries comes from windows. I bought the one time install thing that was like $100 and not the more expensive disc. Will I be able to switch and add parts and still use my current windows, or will I need to purchase windows again. I have win7 and haven't gone ahead with the free win10 upgrade yet because I was waiting till I got an SSD and install it there instead. I would also like to know if I can link my graphics card to any othe graphics card that has the link port or if it has to be the same card. The reason I ask is because i can't find my current graphics card for sale.

It's not guaranteed, there is a chance you have to call Microsoft to reactivate the licence using their automated phone system.
What the whole pc specs?
I wouldn't bother with crossfire with a HD 7850. Doubled performance is theoretical but doesn't happen. Games has to support crossfire and must scale well. 7850 crossfire isn't great either. Getting a single card like a R9 380/GTX 960 or higher would be better.
You probably have an OEM win7 Home premium licence. You can clone the HDD onto the SSD. You may need to reduce the size of your partition to fit it onto your SSD. Or you can try by phoning Microsoft and see if they will allow you to reactivate the license.

Nothing special. I play ARK which is a dinosaur game. I don't need to run that on high settings or anything though. Currently playing the Hunter, which is a hunting game. I might play Street Fighter 4 on it. The resolution is 1920 x 1080. My budget is $120 for the SSD and I was thinking like maybe adding another graphics card to help a little. However, since you mention that the whole linking thing is a lie that's probably out of the picture.

Changing the GPU or SSD with Windows 7 will NOT ring any alarm bells at MS. That only happens when you change the MOBO. Just disconnect your old HDD and use your original Installation Media to do a clean install of Win 7 on the new SSD.

ok. I'm going to go ahead and purchase the SSD right now. Are you sure about using the same install again? It's the oem and I read that's a one time use thing
