so I've taking my computer in to the shop to get the cooler master hyper 212 evo put in and they said it was about 1cm too big for my case it hits the side...

my case is the thermal take commander snow it said to be able to have a 170mm cpu cooler the CM hyper 212 evo is 158.5mm. is there any reason the hyper 212 evo would hit the side panel of the case??

Solution
At first I thought maybe the issue was with the side fan installed. I believe this is the same case as yours, the ms-i snow edition. This user shows a video of that case with a 212 evo cooler and plenty of space. You can see through the window that the cooler stops before the side panel fan so there should be no conflict with the side panel fan riding under the 212 evo cooling tower.

Personally I would question the shop and have them show me why they can't get it to fit.

If you skip ahead to around the 4min mark of this video and start watching you can see the 212 evo fits fine along with the side panel being held up to it for reference.

I put it in myself it fits with about 1cm to the side panel and come nowhere near my 120mm side fan it has about 3cm to top 120mm. the shop didn't even try and they gave me some BS about I have no stand-offs.. it was so easy to do this was the 1st one I put in and the case has built in stand offs. that's the last time I take my computer in to that shop, it's a joke

Yep seen that before, not the first shop techs that do not know what they are doing!
Welcome to the world of doing it yourself!!
