hello there,
Im going to buy parts for my new pc next week.
i decided to pick up the following:
r9 380 4gb
a single 8gb ram, (maybe add another 8gb if needed later)
128gb ssd, (adding a 1tb sata later but money is short right now)

My limit is at around 600 euro, i want to be able to play some new games like fallout 4 decently, just so that if a new game that looks cool comes out i can buy it and play it on mid/high settings without worrying about fps and such. I think you know what i mean.

Which Cpu and mainboard would you choose and why? Can someone recommend a power supply thats reliable? (my last pc got destroyed by the power supply which fucked up the mainboard)...
and a bonus would be if you could recommend which graphic card manufacturer to pick for my r9 380.

Hope you guys can help me out.
Cheers, Sebastian

i5-4690K + MSI Z97 PC MATE (cheap and solid board that is also capable of overclocking) or any MSI Z97 Gaming Boards (the Krait Edition is pretty good and cheap) + Cryorig H7 for overclocking + EVGA Supernova G2 550W/650W (highest quality unit out there).

If you don't overclock then:
i5-4460/4590/4690 (whichever is cheaper) + Z97 PC MATE (it's cheap and reliable, it's just a solid board and getting it will also open an upgrade path to i7 and will give an option of overclocking it) + EVGA Supernova G2 550W/650W.

For the R9 380, I would go with either ASUS Strix or MSI Twin Frozr whichever one is cheaper.

Good luck :)

Thanks for the replies and suggestions! I also continued looking around, how do you feel about the setup below? The i5-6500 is from the new skylake generation and compareable to the i5 4460 (20 bucks more, but new socket generation and benchmarks show its 5-10% faster compared to the 4460. Im not a overclocker.

Still not sure about which r9 380 to choose, i saw a lot of people recommend the sapphire r9 380 nitro but put in this card as a placeholder because no price was shown on the sapphire model.

with the i5-6500 i would need a 1151 socket motherboard so i picked this gigabyte board (read a lot of good things about their boards)

800 is my absolut limit and im missing too many parts with your configuration @ sr-71 blackbird.

feel free to share your thoughts ;)
