High-ish memory usage while not doing much

I've noticed this for a while and thought nothing much of it but I was wondering if this is normal. Even while just simply browsing the internet my memory usage is at nearly 4GB. The processes tab on the task manager shows the most demanding process isn't even 100MB. Is this acceptable memory usage?

the more memory you add the memory will be used... thats the normal way.. chrome uses a lot of RAM even if your chrome is not open. chrome as alot of background services... actually your RAM usage looks pretty okay...
