Hi! I really need a new GPU >_< I have HD 5850 and I wish to change it for the R9 390...but i'm really afraid of buying it and get some bottlenecks with my core i5 3330! Could you please answer this question??
Oh! One more thing: R9 390 is better than GTX 970, isn't it? Since it's newer and more potent than GTX 970, right? ;-; Thanks!

Solution
I have an R9 290 myself. The card is 2 years old since it's released and it performs pretty well for me so I don't think age is a problem with GTX 970
Each has its pros and cons. GTX 970 had better optimization as mentioned in my comment above. It produces less heat and uses less power. R9 390 performs slightly better and has a lot more VRAM.
If you game at 1080p, get the GTX 970 due to vram limit and for 1440p I think the R9 390 is better choice (you can't go wrong with either card)

Definitely not a bottleneck at all. Both cards perform very similarly to each other. But NDIVIA allegedly pays gaming company to optimize games for them, so GTX 970 will perform better in those titles.
I would choose GTX 970 due to low heat production and the reason mentioned above.
