Is my cpu a bottleneck and would it be worth upgrading my cpu? How big of an increase would I see in cpu intensive games (like WoW or other MMOs)?
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz
Graphics Card: GTX 970
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 144hz
Motherboard: MSI P67A-G43
Ram: 8GB
Power Supply: Antec High Current Gamer HCG-750, 80 PLUS BRONZE, 750 Watt Power Supply
Nothing is overclocked and I don't feel comfortable overclocking anything for now.
I sometimes use my computer for gaming for games like Witcher 3 (which still struggles a bit maintaining 60fps with ultra settings) and Metal Gear Phantom Pain. However, I mostly play MMOs which I understand are more cpu intensive and my framerate drops in certain points. Guild Wars 2 fluctuates in fps and frequently goes well below 60 fps at times and I'm wondering if the cpu is bottlenecking. WoW plays considerably better but still fluctuates from 50 (in Garrisons) and gets around 70/80fps in the latest expansion's zones. However, WoW will be increasing its max distance 3x and I'd like to utilize that feature without my fps taking a heavy hit.
