Hi all,

I'm having a problem when booting the pc:

1. When only Pci-e revo is installed, the pc boot fine in windows 7
2. When Pci-e revo is installed and sata is set to ide-comptible and I connect a hdd to it, the pc boot fine in windows 7
3. When Pci-e revo is installed and sata is set to AHCI and I connect a hdd to it, the pc boot but I get a black screen with a white cursor ( _ ) blinking and that's it

Could you help me solve this problem?

Thx

you've not installed the ahci drivers in windows, it's normally the very first choice you have to make, do you have drivers for your disks. If you google converting windows from ide to ahci you'll find a tool on an MS website that will deal with it. Run it, shut down, change bios settings, restart and you should be ok. MAKE A BACKUP OF IMPORTANT ITEMS, in case this is a different problem, and create a restore point, and make sure you have your disk accessible so you can boot from disk and restore to a previous point.

mobo is a GA-990FXA-UD3
how to see if the revo supports ahci?

I could see the revo if i delete the raid config, and in windows I can create a stripped volume, so that is working, but if I restart, same story, no boot
