Can someone explain to me Motherboard compatibility?

I wanted to get a Radeon R7 370 because it's relatively cheap for black friday. I was surfing on Amazon and I found a question asking if it was compatible with certain motherboards.
Does this really matter? I'm running an AMD FX-8120 CPU if that helps with anything.

Thanks for any advice guys, I'm still relatively new at this upgrading thing.

No mate , if you're running an fx CPU then your board is compatible full stop mate.
Go ahead & buy - all you need to worry about is that your PSU is decent enough & the card will fit in your case.
