What is this motherboard? What kind of cooler can fit on top?

Hello, simonz93 , I saw the links...but couldnt find anything about it on google..No worries, the mobo is compatible with both the PSU and cooler...The holes on the mobo are good enough for the cooler to fit..PSU is no problem..just make sure that you have enough wattage for all the components...
PS: Nice job, HP marketing person for the name :p

It's a fairly new MB, Z170 chipset that supports 6'th Gen Intel CPU (LGA1151). Your new PSU should be compatible - only company that use to use non-standard ATX power connector was Dell. For sanity check just compare the wire color coding on the original PSU's ATX connector (24 pin MB) with the 24 pin connector on you new PSU.

Looks like the MB supports a standard stock CPU cooler. If it came with a stock Intel CPU cooler then you can use any aftermarket cooler. But don't expect too much overclocking potential with that MB if that is your intent for getting a better cooler. The MB only has a 4 pin CPU power connector instead of the 8 pin you would find on most Z170 boards. And the CPU power regulation (VRM) is bound to be sub-par on that MB (OEM's always cheap out).

Thank you. Yeah I gave up on the new fan, the default one actually works pretty well for my current needs, CPU temp never went above 55 c under load.
Though I'm not sure if the CPU can cope with the new GTX 980 Ti I bought.

If you have a K series CPU (6700K or 6600K) then you might be able to eek out a small 200MHz overclock with that MB - the stock cooler would be fine with a small overclock.

But download MSIAfterburner and monitor you CPU and GPU usage to see if you even need it when playing games. If the CPU isn't hitting 100% usage, then there is no need to overclock in the first place.

oh crap. I don't have a K series, it's just 6700. And yeah It's always hitting 100% cpu usage (I used windows task manager to check the performance)...

Don't use Task Manager. Get MSIAfterburner - if you truly have a bottleneck then you will see the GPU usage drop below 100% when the CPU maxes out to 100% usage.

oh... and no K, no overclock:(

Thanks. I will use it to monitor. But under what circumstances would I encounter a bottleneck? Right now I'm not encountering any CPU issue when playing game. For some games I need more VRAM to improve the performance, but is my CPU not good enough without overclocking?

oh great haha thanks so much for your help and clarifications!
