Frequent BSOD/Restarts - Replace Memory?

All -

Since building my rig in May 2014, I have experienced stretches where the computer will frequently BSOD and restart, resulting in a "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown" message that offers no particular insight.

The failures most often happen when the computer is on, but not being used - I'll hear it restarting from across the room. It almost never happens when I'm using the computer, except occasionally when running a scan through Norton 360 Premier.

The BSOD messages are often either "Uncorrectable Hardware Error" or "Memory Management".

My drivers are up-to-date, as best as I can tell. Core memory and motherboard components were purchased and installed in May 2014.

They are:

  • Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H Motherboard
    Gskill Ripjaw X Memory (8GB)
    Core i5-4670k
    700W PSU

Memtest86 and the Windows Memory Diagnostic reveal no errors - but I'm at a loss. Are there any suggestions for correcting this issue?

Thanks,
Geoff
