Solution
No problem.

Changing out PSU's really isn't that bad difficult, especially as you noted if you have a modular unit. If you have the budget for a little bit more then the EVGA 550w G2 below would be a fantastic choice. It's one of the best PSU's in the entire wattage range and is fully modular:

Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (£66.96 @ Aria PC)
Total: £66.96
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

The 550w G2 recieved a perfect 10/10 from Johnny Guru, one of the best...
This would be a strong choice and would provide everything you need to run the MSI GTX 970 reliably: XFX ATX 550

- Correct wattage and 12V rail
- Correct PCIe cables
- Made with quailty components from SEASONIC

This should do the trick do you have any turtorials on doing these power supplies as my one right now has wires that go under the case then up into the mother board

not hurting my feelings :D

i was looking at price mostly so missed the g2 at only a few bucks more. i'd go for it as well myself. modular is noce to keep the case clutter free. only have to connect the cables you actually need. feel free to come back and ask any questions you may have as you do the psu swap. but i'm sure you will see it is pretty easy once you get in there and get started. make note of everything you remove a cable from and be sure to put one back on in its place. pretty much that easy :)

Here is an example of a PSU installation with pictures on how to run PSU cables effectively: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1936217/install-power-supply-including-basic-cable-management.html

If your current rig has cables threaded behind the motherboard that you can't get out easily you might have to take the motherboard out, but hopefully you will be able to avoid that.

Each PSU cable run is a little different due to the case and component differences. If a video tutorial is what you're after the best thing to search for is your case type and watch folks on youtube building into it.
