What would give me the best performance boost?

Due to black friday sales, I have found a few upgrades to be in my price range, but I can only pick one or the other. My budget is under $250.

First option, FX-8320 and 250 GB Samsung SSD or 480 GB SanDisk Ultra II SSD. (maybe some better ram if I went with the smaller SSD)

Second option, i5 4590 and compatible motherboard (this would require fresh install of Windows).

My current system is an FX-6120, XFX 7870, 1TB Caviar Blue, 8 GB (cheap) kingston ram, and a 60 GHz AOC IPS monitor.

What would be my best option for increased performance in gaming? (That I can actually experience or see, not just increased benchmark scores) As of now, I don't see any future games that interest me, I mainly play battlefield 4 and 3, Tribes Ascend, Skyrim, and Sniper Elite games. I do realize converting to Intel would create some major headaches for me as far as formatting and reinstalling, but I feel that would be worth the performance increase, if it would be noticeable.

Thank You.

That is a marginal motherboard for that CPU. The power delivery and phases is not up to overclocking that CPU and is only barely OK for running it at normal speeds. To get the best out of your 8320 and to handle newer, more demanding games, you will have to overclock that CPU.

Does that change your thinking?

So you are saying that I should just convert to intel then? Is this motherboard I found good? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gpbdMp Or would it be better to go with the 4460 and a better motherboard?

To me, the only reason for upgrading to a FX8320 or more in a gaming system is if it is cheap. If you have to replace the motherboard as well, then Intel and AMD cost the same-ish.

Because of Black Friday, prices are crazy at the moment.

These are comparable choices. The 4590 is a little faster (100Mhz base clock)r, but not worth the $20 difference in price to me. When I bought my i5 4590 it was on special and cheaper by $3 than the i5 4460.

I will probably be going the Intel route now. Just one more question, I have a pcie 1x wifi card, will that be compatible in the any of the other slots?
