So I've specifically set my mind on MSI's R9 390. Today is Black Friday and I've found a deal on the card on newegg.

$459.99 -> $434.99 w/ MIR -> $413.24 w/ Promo code.

In the end it'd cost $477.12 w/ tax and shipping.

I'm not sure if I should wait for a better deal or pull the trigger on this.

This is in Canada*

Yeah just go for it. No need to ever wait to buy GPU's especially in sales. I never understand the point of waiting overall when it comes to graphics cards, you'd be waiting forever and ever.

Have you got a good enough power supply (600w+ recommended) to handle it?

I think the MSI brand one is the only one he can run with the psu he has, i think 750watt psu is the minimum for the other 390s.

Really? I've read about a lot of people saying that 650 w is enough for the R9 390.

Yeah I've seen that, though I've already have my mind set on the MSI cause I read it's come on top the others. (plus it matches my MSI motherboard haha)

You said yourself that you had your mind on the MSI one, why not go for it? It draws less power and can go well with your psu. I would stay away from the XFX and Sapphire though however, they draw too much power you would need 750watt. And i have some good news, i think actually that the Gigabyte one is going to work with your psu. I just know some of the other producers cards draws more watts so it requires a higher psu.

@AreFlame that's quite a bit of nonsense there. Every R9 390 uses the same amount of power. Doesn't matter which brand it is.

ANY R9 390/R9 390X will work with the Corsair TX 650.

The Gigabyte model is good and to be fair it will look quite good with any motherboard since It's all black. If however you prefer the MSI for colors and/or brand combination, then this is your preference.

I have done my research, and almost none of the brands have the same statistics of how much power they draw.
Every brand has their own overclocks in core clock, memory clock and voltage. It also comes up to how much power theyre aftermarket coolers require too so dont come here tell me its a bit of nonsense. I never reply without knowing my facts.

From your posts you simply seem very inexperienced, so the research you've done hasn't been good enough for sure. You expect that with one R9 390 that is clocked higher requires a 750 watts power supply, yet a lower clocked one might be fine with a 650 watts? Have a laugh mate.

If you did the right research we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Can you list how much power the average R9 390 draws for me? You'll notice that a 750 watts is completely unnecessary.

You forgot to mention that i said it depends on the cooler the different brands have. They all require a sum of watts.
