Force 1920x1080 on monitor - used to work with amd

I recently switched graphics cards from an amd something or other to an nvidia gtx 750 ti and i can no longer use 1920x1080 on my primary monitor. Is there something i'm missing or is this not supposed to be possible normally? my secondary monitor is 1920x1080, if that helps.

Update: I updated my gpu drivers and I can now succesfully create a custom 1920x1080 resolution and test it (which works perfectly), but when I go to change the resolution it fails. Any insight?

Did you do a Windows button + P and extend it?

did you uninstall the old amd drivers first?

Run DDU, uninstall all drivers.


Then re-install the newest drivers from the nvidia website
