Hello there guys,

My brother and I have an argument and we need your opinion to sort this out.
My brother wants to buy a good video card and I suggested the gtx 970 but unfortunately he doesn't know which version is the best buy... Can you help us with some suggestions?

The choice is between:

Nvidia EVGA gtx 970 SC with acx 2.0 which is 259 pounds.

AND

Nvidia EVGA gtx 970 FTW with acx 2.0 or FTW+ which is 306 pounds. http://www.dabs.com/products/evga-geforce-gtx-970-ftw-edition-gaming-4gb-gddr5-pci-e-3-0-hdmi-graphics-card-04g-p4-2978-kr-B11F.html?refs=505760000&src=3

Which is the best buy in this case?

As you can see the differences are highlighted in red.
You are paying 50 pound more for a different cooler and a slightly higher OC rate.
Go with the cheaper solution.

the sc is dual fan the ssc (the higher cloked one is) has heat pipes. with evga.
with MSI they all have heatpipes.
evga selects thiers chips, so the sc stays sc and the ssc ftw is then the cream of the crop.
the MSI can over easliy to ssc clocks its only like 30away from it, i can squeez 30 mhz otta my gameboy color if i wanted. and that is why i find MSI better .. also because its red and looks bad ass compared to the evga's .

They do not have std cooler but ACX 2.0 cooler which is patented to EVGA. To get a MSI over EVGA is personal preference not because it is better!

ok ill roll with it, twin frozer sucks, thats why msi bougt them out and slapping 2 fans on an aluminum finned pice of metal is the best says the grand mast er ^^ who obviously owns stock in evga and has like 20 cards, he'll prolly give one to you if you as him, but no heapipes are overrated and have been proven wrong over the years and that is why evga contines to sell GFX cards on the cheap is cause they can aford to and why not factory OC them cause they are gonne fry any way
so refdesign isnt two fans on a aluminum block it is one big fan at the very end of the alumnum block pardon me makes all the difference. enjoy grand mast er
i willl absorb your w- sidome grand mast er. '
now grow a paar and acknowledge that you would take a strix or a MSI any day of the week over an evga... an ee vee gee a wwil break down on you the second the greantee runs out on it, it like they only produce them on mondays, cause the rest of the week the chines are busy producying important stuff real tech n stuff.

I actually own 2 x MSI GTX970 TF but the reason being that they were cheaper at the time than the EVGA. It was between those and the Asus Strix at the time.
