crucial matched ram not compatible?

I am having a very frustrating issue trying to upgrade my ram. I had 8 gigs and one 4 gig stick failed on me so im running on 4 gigs. Here is another thread i posted earlier for having problems upgrading

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2866074/ram-basically-working.html

after being told that I decided to go with what everyone recommends and just buy ram on the matched list on crucial.com, i decided on this pair here

http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/x58-extreme/CT2656402

after doing some research I was unable to determine the density of the ram based on the specifications but since everyone was praising this compatibly tester so much i thought i should just trust it. I have done everything I did before, clearing cmos with jumper, battery, reset bios, manually adjusted frequencies, set everything to auto, rotating dimm slots, increased voltage, all of it but still no display on boot. My dr. debug display on the mobo flashes b8, 02, ea, 01 if anyone can use that info.

So if this ram isnt compatible would anyone be able to tell me how to determine ram density and/or recommend some low density ram? This is the 3rd set of ram that i have purchased so this issue is becoming quite demoralizing. Thanks for the help!

First, Crucial memory part number CT2656402 is (supposed to be) compatible with the ASRock X58 Extreme motherboard.

Suggest removing the CPU and checking the CPU and socket that there is no damage to pins and pads, and that there is no dust or debris etc.

Re-seat CPU carefully and evenly.

Clear CMOS again.

Try the Crucial memory again.

Determining memory chip density requires information on memory chip memory locations and also on memory chip data width. Unfortunately this information is usually not readily available from most memory module manufacturers. So it becomes difficult, if not impossible, to find the density of memory chips.

Thanks for the quick response! I just tried it, and when I pulled out the cpu I did notice I must have been a little too generous with the thermal paste and it was oozing where it shouldnt be. I cleaned it up and cleared the cmos with no luck still. At least I know I have a cleaner cpu lol. I just got an email back from crucial, they responded quite quickly which is very surprising, asrocks customer service doesnt seem to exist, they never respond to my emails. Here is what crucial support said.

Thank you for contacting us today.

I've been looking at the Asrock x58 Extreme specs and have came across a few things. It looks like with DDR3 2000/1866/1600 are only supported for one DIMM per channel and the system only has 2 channels, so that could be part of the issue.

I'm seeing some mixed results with High Density vs Low Density parts with that motherboard. It could most certainly be what's causing the issue of the system not even posting.

If you want a Low Density part then the part you could try is:

http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/x58-extreme/CT3460758

The other thing you could try is making sure the BIOS is fully up to date to make sure everything is compatible.

I guess I am going to go ahead and drop off this crucial ram in the ups drop box in about 5 hours, unless anyone can come save me first.
