So this year's Black Friday pressure buy turned out to be a dell u2515h 1440p monitor. The problem is my system is kinda old so I'm going to need some adapters to get this thing hooked up. My system is currently running a gtx 460 with 2 dvi ports and mini hdmi port. The card should be able to push a maximum digital resolution of up to 2560x1600 but only via its dual-link DVI outputs. The problem is that the monitor only has HDMI and displayport inputs. Can you guys vouch for any cables that I can order now as to not have a problem setting up when this 117ppi beauty arrives.

I was looking into the amazonbasics HDMI to DVI adapter cable but I couldn't find any information on weather it could run 1440p. Also, i'm Canadian so its gotta be able to be shipped here!

Much appreciated, and Thanks you in advance guys

for 100% maximum support you will need a card with a display port, the only way to achieve the highest resolution possible, like what you are considering.

Just remember you have to have a bomb ass card to handle 1440p, otherwise you will lag out like crazy. low fps.

How would I go about doing this? Just plug the display port adapter into the monitor and then run a DVI cable up to them from the graphics card? Would doing this really work? I was contemplating it, but I wasn't sure.
