Windows 7 won't boot after adding more RAM

Hi.

I recently bought a 2x4GB DDR3 1866mhz HyperX Fury kit to match my other HyperX Fury 2x4GB kit. Both kitsare the same product.

My problem is emerged when I tried booting up windows after adding the new RAM to the RAM I had already. Windows just will not boot. Either my computer restarts, displays an error message or takes me to the startup repair, which hasn't done anything for me.

I have tried numerous things along with memtest but I can't seem to get anything to work.

The new RAM is being detected fine, I don't think it's that that is causing it.

Any light that can be shed on this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Did you test the new set by itself to see if it worked? More than likely, there is an issue with not using a designated kit. Identical RAM manufactured on different days may not work together because it could have different modules (i.e., one set has Micron and the other has Samsung). Doesn't make sense with the timing and voltages being the same, but it happens.

Thanks for the reply. I just tried both sets of RAM on their own but unfortunately they both do the same thing; restart when windows boots or goes to system repair which results in no fix.

I don't really know what to do any more.

Wasn't able to find any option along the lines of "Load Optimized Defaults". Instead I reset the bios and booted to Windows. Unfortunately it resulted in the same problems, it just rebooted the machine.

Don't think I can anything... I really have no idea what the problem could be.

Currently running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Whenever I attempt to boot into safe mode a blue error screen pops up for a split second and then my machine restarts.

I have no idea why, but my motherboards bios does not display any voltage readings in its system status. Nor can I find any anywhere else...

Unfortunately no on-board graphics either. If it helps though, it does show the standard windows loading screen before restarting itself. I don't know if that proves the graphics are working or not though...

No, not at this point in time. Yeah, reinstalling Windows was kind of a last ditch thing. Looking like it may become a reality...
