How Much of a performance increase will I see upgrading from AMD fx to Intel Skylake?

So a couple of years ago I built a pretty standard gaming rig which consists of;
AMD fx 4170
HD 7770 which I upgraded to an r9 290 (will this be bottlenecked?)
8 GB DDR3 RAM
120GB SSD
ect, ect..

and now I'm thinking of buying a asus ROG z170 1151 mobo, an intel 6600k, 8GB of DDR4 2400 Mhz RAM, and watercooling.

Obviously I know there will be a decent performance increase but will it really be that drastic?. Will I also be seeing an increase in performance from my r9 290?

I would say even higher than that in especially CPU bound conditions like MMO's or large player-count FPS's.
