Best i7 or i5 Intel for a 1151

My son and I are looking to build a gaming desktop. He has a Gigabyte G1 motherboard and needs to buy a processor. Thanks for your help

The i7 6700K is your best option, it'll have 4 cores and hyperthreading to help allow him to game and record at the same time. It also starts at a very good clock speed, but can be pushed a little further. The i5 6600K would also be good, but without the HT, it could have troubles with recording and gaming at the same time. Though probably not often. The $350-400 will accommodate the 6700K.

He will be playing minecraft, call of duty, arma3, ark survival, dayz. He has a gigabyte g1 z170 motherboard in a rosewill black ultra case. Other than that we are still buying the rest. He also wants to be a "you tuber" so there will be some recording and editing as well. Thanks for your help.
