I have a disk of windows 7 and key.
Yesterday, I purchased a new case with a better mobo, cpu and graphics card, ect.

So first time building a gaming rig and going over budget at that.
Then I realise ( derpy moment, I know) I needed to format it, thing is I don't have a optical drive.

I've tried searching youtube mostly but the software some suggest is riddled with virus and the like. So can anyone suggest some safe software that can do this? Then maybe some tips on how I can make it workable?

glad you found something to make the usb drive that you're happy with.

can be tough dealing with free software and weeding out the crapware but if you're careful and read every page of the set-up, you can normally avoid it.

enjoy your new build :D

i use power iso to make them. it is free and easy to use. it does offer some crapware at install but it is easy to deselect.

once installed select tools -- create bootable usb drive and point it to the iso file and it'll do the rest. pretty simple :)

Hello, thanks for you're input. I didn't realize that I already had the iso image, seeming it was a copy disk. I already tried powered iso and imgburn when I posted this and didn't like the "crapware". Majors slows on my laptop.

However I found Rufus, to be better and does create a bootable usb with an iso image. No, nasties as well when installing and it is super quick to install. Pity they don't have a donations page.
