Hello, I am considering buying a used AMD Phenom II X6 1055T. The price is about $90 with shipping, but there is no heatsink included. It does include free thermal paste. Is a heatsink something that I need to buy separately? If so, can you recommend one?

My current processor is an AMD Athlon II X3 455, would it be possible to reuse the heatsink on it?

Thanks in advance.

The heat sink/fan from the Athlon II will be too weak to cool the Ph II X6. But the 125W stock coolers are for sale all over ebay. This is an example of the stock cooler for the Ph II x6 CPUs: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=&Brand=AMD&Type=CPU%2520Fan%2520with%2520Heatsink&_dcat=131486&_osacat=131486&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR8.TRC2.A0.H0.Xphenom+ii+x6.TRS0&_nkw=phenom+ii+x6&_sacat=131486

There are also aftermarket coolers that run quieter than the stock coolers when at high speed.
