I have Tenda W308R router and i cannot login to it to configure it. I have the correct IP (check from ipconfig gateway) and also checked since it is physically written on the router itself . The ip is 192.168.0.1 when i try it i get a generic error, that the webpage cannot load. I tried everything, turning pc on of, turning router on of, reseting to factory default etc.
Can someone tell me what to do? Internet is workign through the router im just unable to get into the router settings to configure it. Also pinging works, it returns, ping is 1 ms... I tried also disabling my antivirus (kaspersky internet security) I tried accessing 192.168.0.1 via firefox, via internet explorer and via opera... Nothing helped... can someone give me some advice please...?
(and of course i have the router connected to my PC via RJ45 cable, NOT wireless), PC is desktop PC).

Hi

All i can suggest is using a different pc or laptop preferably with a different version of windows and av software to see if a firewall on your pc is blocking access

If using another pc not possible try starting in safe mode with networking

Do you have a Modem or a router modem that is also connected to the router you're trying to access?
Did you make sure if IP address of Modem or Router Modem may have the same address.
Another reason why you're unable to access it is because your IP Address and Gateway from the PC may have a different IP range, you can try to manually configure your IP settings within the range of the router then try to access it again.
Connect to your router wired or wireless without the modem connected.

scout_03: I dont understand what do you mean ?

mbarnes86: I tried it without antivirus (both with WAN connected (internet available) and WAN cable not connected, i shutted down my antivirus, it didnt work :-/. Currently im not able to try it with some other PC :-/.

TearsOfWrath14: IP range is ok, i know about that and checked that, my router IP is 192.168.0.1 my IP is 192.168.0.50
I have Tenda W308R i dont know if it is just a router or a modem router i will have to look, i dont know even what are the differences between them :)... Im quite good with PC, but im noob in network stuff...

Some has any other idea how to fix this?

as i answered a other thread here:
I think the problem is from the hosts file, which is located in c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/
Open it with Notepad and check if there is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 anywhere there and reply here.

BathinApe: Hi, there are two host files, one is simply "hosts" and other is "hosts.ics". Neither of those two contain the 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.0.1
Besides "#" notes, the "hosts" contains:

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 (SOMETHING LIKE THIS:) activate.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 (SOME other internet adress)
127.0.0.1 (SOME other internet adress)
127.0.0.1 (SOME other internet adress)
127.0.0.1 (SOME other internet adress)
127.0.0.1 (SOME other internet adress)
127.0.0.1 (SOME other internet adress)
127.0.0.1 (SOME other internet adress)
127.0.0.1 (SOME other internet adress)
127.0.0.1 (SOME other internet adress)
127.0.0.1 (SOME other internet adress)
127.0.0.1 (SOME other internet adress)
127.0.0.1 (SOME other internet adress)
127.0.0.1 (SOME other internet adress)
::1 localhost

and the "hosts.ics", besides "#" notes, contains this:
#192.168.137.1 (NAME OF MY PC)-PC.mshome.net # AND THEN SOME NUMBERS like 3 16 20 22 21 etc.

Ok, I think you should try plugging your LAN cable, that comes from the router (not that from your ISP) to another computer, disable all its antivirus software and then try to access 192.168.whatever.whatever
I am pretty sure this is going to work.

Other solutions:
Disable web proxies - make sure Internet Explorer is not configured to use some type of web proxy for browsing.
Updating your firmware is another solution (but this is in case nothing else really works) - sometimes a corrupt firmware can render the router useless. Try updating to the newest one from the manufacturer's website.

One more thing: Can you show us a picture of what the exact error you are getting, when you try to access?

Hi i dont have acces to another computer :-(.

I have read elsewhere that KIS (kasperesky internet security) has a lot of problems with routers and since im running it might be the problem, even disabling it doesnt help :-/, you have to uninstall it or re instal. I think thats the most likely problem.

It just gives me general error in firefox, that the connection was canceled wasnt estabilhes etc.

I think the problem is in my antivirus, Kaspersky Internet Security 2016. I managed to boot up via live Ubuntu linus USB flashdisc and acces the router without problem, i changed the settings to my liking and exited. I have a questions, before i try to uninstal my antivirus (because even according to the internet, simple disablign it doesnt help), is it possible, that the router wifi wireless network will still work and that the only problem is the inability to acces the router from windows? But it still might function properly, doesnt anybody has any experience with this? I dont really want to mess with my antivirus... :-(
