For Skylake:

I7 6700k CPU

Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler (already have this and it works great for cooling on my current FX-6300 CPU)

GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Kingston HyperX FURY Black 16GB Kit (2x8GB) 2133MHz DDR4 Non-ECC CL14 DIMM Desktop Memory

Sapphire Radeon R9 390 NITRO 8GB

Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD (OS, games and applications)
1TB Western Digital Blue HDD

Corsair Carbide Air 540 Case

Will probably run 5 fans. 3 minimum.

For Devil's Canyon Build:

I7 4790k CPU

Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler (already have as stated)

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (4 x 4GB) 1600 MHz (already have this)

Sapphire Radeon R9 390 NITRO 8GB

Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD (OS, games and applications)
1TB Western Digital Blue HDD

Corsair Carbide Air 540 Case

Will probably run 5 fans. 3 minimum.

Other notes:

*Not getting a 970 due to the 3.5GB VRAM issue. I've had games surpass that before and my current 4GB 760 handles those loads with no issues. The R9 390 has great reviews anyways.

*I'll have to buy new DDR4 RAM if I go with Skylake

*I want a relatively quiet build, Not dead silent, but not really loud.

*I'll be ordering the parts in the next 2-3 weeks once I decide on which build to go with.

*I'll be doing mostly gaming and Blender modeling/rendering/animation, which is why I want an I7. Everything else I'll use it for is pretty basic. I also work with the Unity game engine.

Any recommendations are appreciated, as well as improvements to this build.

Sorry. I had just posted this then accidently exited out of my browser with the PSU listed. I knew I was forgetting something. It will be this on both builds:

EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G2 80+ GOLD, 1000W Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI and Crossfire Ready

1000W is overkill but I want to crossfire down the road and have it last me a long, long time.
