Which is Better? 4 sticks of 4 GB or 2 sticks of 8 GB?

if its a quad channel motherboard then 4 sticks. If it's dual channel then 2. Stability is reduced the more sticks you have, especially if they arent from a matched set.

also better off using two stick when you can to leave open slots. in case one of the slots goes bad or you break a ram tab. the empty slots also let you add more ram if needed latter on.
