Number of CPU Cores

So, I have 2 Intel Xeon E5450 processors running in my tower. Since they are both quad core processors, does that mean I have 8 cores because I have multiple processors?

What he was asking was if that actually was correct.

You can't always just add everything; we don't say that a dual-core 3GHz CPU is 6GHz.
