How long wait for 6790K?

Is anybody know whether Intel planing to release new cpus of 6th generation like 6790K? And why there is no gain in productivity after switching ddr3 for ddr4 on 1151 platform? Maybe this is something next processors should solve?

Yes, around the end of 2016 Intel will come out with the Kabylake processors. These will have faster on-board graphics and will be a bit faster with more instructions per second. Not really worth waiting for. Probably only 5% faster with non GPU instructions.

Intel has very fast and large caches on their processors so the RAM speed makes little difference for the most part. Just go with a 6700K now.

Probably the Cannonlake 10nm processor coming out in late 2017 will be significantly faster, but who can wait that long? AMD is coming out with the Zen next year, probably around Aug-Sept. It will be way faster than the 8350, but probably only on par with Intel then.
