I have purchased Dell 300SWFP HC Monitor, I installed graphic card ATI RADEON HD 5450 on Windows 7 working good with my view sonic 17 " monitor showing resolution more then 1200 x 800 but when I use this graphic card fixing it with a duel link cable one side DVI-D connector ( on monitor side) and other side HDMI fixing a DVI-I adapter on HDMI cable connector (on graphic card), my card supports DVI-I connector. The resolution is showing on bar as max 2560 x 1600 but work only on 1280 x 800. If I increase resolution more than 1280 x 800 it shows color vertical lines. Pl tell me the correct solution if any body had same problem. Is my graphic card and cable or ok or I have problem.

Solution
A 17" monitor is likely not capable of producing a 2560x1600 resolution. If you run your video card higher than your monitor's abilities you could damage your monitor. It is not recommended. Your video card setting should be set at your monitors native resolution. There should be documentation online under your monitor's model number. You might also install a monitor driver, which may allow your video card to sync better - provided you are using a digital connection (not VGA).
