At boot I see a keyboard error and the keyboard is inoperative until I enter windows. I dual boot and now although seeing the boot menu, I cannot change it. Not even the power led shows on the keyboard until it enters windows. I have tried different keyboards and usb ports all to no avail

Sorry for previous post, for some reason my account is acting up. Had to create a new one, original was gasman77. I fixed the keyboard issue, turned out to be a faulty Seagate expansion drive on usb. Must have been causing a conflict with the keyboard. strange thing is the drive is still working except for causing the keyboard problem at boot up. I proved this by trying it on another PC where it caused the same problem. Time to back it up methinks
might be true, I have a friend using the same type of drive with no issues. Going to take mine to him tomorrow for comparison. However since all is ok once booted into windows I still suspect an address or data conflict. Windows is probably better at handling such matters than the Dell Bios
