Hey guys I've just ordered a new mobo and cpu, nothing fancy just 3.8 dual core way better than my current wood setup. I'm just asking for first time cpu/mobo install advice so I don't damage any pins or anything l and oh it's AMD.

Hold the cpu by its sides only and place it in the socket. Secure the cpu with the small lever and thats pretty much it. Add the thermal paste if you need to and screw it the fan.

Do I still need thermal paste if using stock heatsink?

No. Stock cpu fans don't need them as long as you don't overclock as the thermal paste is pre installed

Okay thanks was just curious Cuz I haven't installed a cpu before. Eventually planning on overcloxking and doing liquid cooling but that's a chore for another day lol
