So today my Fx-4300 died i dont know the cause. 5 beeps when the pc starts and that is all. I will try to RMA the cpu cause i got it for less than a week. Now i want to get Intel, i got fucked up by AMD twice, And the best i can do is a G3258 + A motherboard. I heard that an oveclocked G3258 can reach to the performance of an i5 in single core. What do i do? I need to overclock the G3258 and i already have an aftermarket cooler, Noctua U9BSE2. Will that do? And what mobo should i get?

If it comes with the correct backplate, no problem. If you want an ATX board, here's one, but more expensive. Will overclock better, too.

Let's say 4.2 ghz, and why do i need a new backplate? I have the intel installation parts in the cooler's box. I prefer a atx mobo though.
