So i was thinking to buy a 1600 mhz ddr3 corsair ram for this Optiplex 380 sff. Currently it has 1333 mhz ddr3 ram. I was wondering if i install a 4 GB 1600 mhz module of corsair vengeance, would it automatically underclock the ram speed? Has anyone have experience installing faster aftermarket memory into a dell system before?
Do dell motherboards automatically underclock the ram speed?

I am not mixing 2 ram modules together. I will be taking the original ram out and installing the corsair vengeance ram. I just want to know if it will underclock to 1600 mhz automatically on dell motherboards and if anyone has ever tried it before. According to crucial's website it states that i can install 1600 mhz ram... but i am not totally sure.

The Dell User's manual -- http://downloads.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_optiplex_desktop/optiplex-380_Service%20Manual3_en-us.pdf on PDF page 39 says that the Optiplex 380 can only use 1GB or 2GB DIMMs.
