Hi !

I'll be buying a gaming pc in about 2 months and I've decided to choose between Alienware alpha, Alienware steam machine and a custom gaming PC for the same price tag ($600).

First, Requirements

I want a PC for gaming and for using in programming with Visual Studio.
I want it to last until there's a new console generation (like the Playstation 5 or something).
I'll be getting a steam controller if I don't but the Alienware steam machine.
I want to play all my PC games even those on Origin on it (I heard you can install Windows 10 on alienware Steam Machine's hard drive).

Second, Problems with each PC

1. Alienware Alpha

I think the Alpha is a very decent gaming PC but there was a problem with it in playing AC : Unity (I know it's a sick game ported on PC) because it had custom GPU which couldn't upgrade to the latest NVIDIA drivers. Does this problem still exist ?

2. Alienware Steam Machine

Nothing actually but I want to make sure that I can use Windows 10 on it.
Also I want to know if it will last until a new console generation is released.

3. Custom Gaming PC

I don't know how to choose parts
I am not very keen on building PCs
The size factor annoys me, really.
I live in Egypt, so more parts mean more shipping taxes and customs.

I think that the Alienware Steam Machine is the best, what do you think ?

Thanks in Advance

Generally speaking, a custom-built PC is going to deliver better performance than an Alienware PC of the same price. Alienware computers are beautifully designed (with lovely multicoloured lights in the chassis), but you will be paying a premium for that beauty.

If you are not keen on putting a computer together yourself, there are plenty of websites that will build a PC for you (which often comes with the added benefit of a warranty). Such websites usually offer template builds for each budget level, which you can then customise to have the parts that you would like. I recommend taking this approach, as it will provide you with superior hardware to the Alienware for the same price.

If you want a stylish chassis, I recommend an NZXT Phantom tower case, which has a sleek aesthetic (though not quite as fancy as the Alienware).

As I said before, I am not very keen on building PCs plus it will cost me additional taxes and customs.
And as for the websites that will let me build a PC of my choice, it will cost more than building a PC on my own so the price will not be different from Alienware.
Also, Alienware is extremely beautiful and I know that I'll be paying much for the beauty and the compact size which is very useful to me.

So, I think that I'll go with the Alienware Steam Machine, but I've 3 questions :
1. Can it install the latest drivers from NVIDIA ? Because it was a problem with the Alienware Alpha because it used a custom GPU.
2. Can I install Windows 10 easily on it ? I am not very keen on playing just Steam games for Linux.
3. Can it maintain 30 FPS at a resolution of 720P on all games even on low settings till the Playstation 5 is released ?

Thanks

Update : I read about the Zotac NEN Steam Machine and it's great !
It houses a GTX 960, a Skylake Core i5 Processor and 8 Gigs of Memory with space for 8 more and I think that I read that it is just for $800 !
What about it ? Where can I buy it ? I can't find it on Amazon or any other place although it has already been released.
