Hi,

I want to upgrade my stock Dell keyboard, but don't have a clue what to get. My absolute maximum budget is £50, but I'd rather spend half that, unless the extra money will make a huge difference.

It will be used for typing, as well as for gaming. A number pad is an absolute must have. My current keyboard has multimedia keys and hotkeys for Calculator, My Computer etc, which I do make frequent use of, but I realise that I may have to do without.

If money wasn't an object, I know I'd get the best Razer / Corsair. However, there don't seem to be as many reviews for low / mid-range keyboards.

Thanks!

i use a razer deathstalker essential, it's pretty darn good to me. Currently it looks like the expert one(backlit) is on sale for 49.99$ and the essential one is 43.95$

Euros are like 0.95 Dollars right now so take off a buck or two of each price.

I've been using DethaStalker expert for more then a year now and it still works great and looks like it's brand new. I think it's one of the best looking keyboards. You can also get a basic, classic looking mechanical board for around 50 pounds (with no back lighting, palm rest or media keys). Those are more robust, durable and tactile.

Looks like a great suggestion. Unfortunately, on amazon.co.uk, the Expert is £69.99 and Essential is unavailable. I think Essential is no longer on sale in the UK. I'll see if I can find a better price elsewhere.

For £35 or under, I could get a Corsair Raptor K30 or cheaper brand equivalent (e.g. CoolerMaster).
