Let it sit there for a while and see if it ever goes through. What exactly do you mean by "downloading a cd-rom"? You mean she tried to install something with a disk or actually downloading a copy of a cd-rom?

To do a factory restore for an Acer you hit Alt+F10 when the system starts.
