Hi All,

I have just installed Windows 8.1 on a new PC build. Unfortunately after a few hours I began to get BSOD errors PAGE_FAULT_IN NONPAGED_AREA and MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. It seems somewhat arbitrary as to when it occurs - I went four hours without getting one and then got one every 15 minutes.

I am not sure what it causing this and I am at a bit of a loss as to how to fix it. If someone could help me try and get to the bottom of this, that would be amazing.

This is the minidump file from the latest BSOD: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ywl076bipimp28v/112915-10375-01.dmp?dl=0

EDIT: It bluescreened while I was typing this, so here is the minidump from that: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m5btrjug5ed8cgs/113015-9312-01.dmp?dl=0

All the BSODs so far have come from the same address: ntoskrnl.exe+14e8a0

I have tried the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool - it came back with a report of no violations.

It seemed to run okay in Safe Mode.

Unfortunately I am not amazing with computers - I am happy to follow instructions and do the best I can to give people the information they need to help sort this out, but I'm sorry if I need clarification or give the wrong information!

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

EDIT:

have you ran any test like memtest64?

i would recommend memtest as it found the failing stick of ram in my pc that was causing occasional bsod's

if you think it could be a driver, download ultimate boot cd (ive heard of overclockix as well) or a similar iso

burn it to a disk then boot off it and run prime95 for at least an hour, if it doesnt crash then it will be a driver issue (do memtest first)

I have checked the log files on BSV, and googled them - to be honest I haven't actually seen a consensus over what it could be? Everyone seems to try something different, and some never come back to the thread with an answer as to whether their problem was solved or not.

I tried to check for updates and got a BAD_POOL_HEADER BSOD.

EDIT: after I recovered from that I tried to update again. I got 95% through downloading the update before it blue screened again with Memory Management, then Unexpected Store Exception. At this point I tried to boot into Safe Mode and got Critical Structure Corruption and then on reboot again System Service Exception. It seems to boot into a black screen in Windows.

Not going to work, you have hardware failure. The memory is likely busted.

Run the system with only some of the ram and then rotate the memory out of the system until you find which is causing the errors.

We have had to go back and format the SSD and reinstall windows, but the technician I took it to has said the same (most likely hardware). Thanks for all your advice everyone: unfortunately no solve at this time, but I will report back if I ever find out what was causing it.
