Will 48Gb 1033Mhz ECC RAM and dual Xeon x5570 bottleneck the GTX 970 or the GTX 960?

Hi everyone,

I bought a 3-4 years old workstation for everyday use but I also fell in love with Planetside 2. My question is if I buy a geforce gtx 970(or 960)will it perform well on my older pci e. gen 2 motherboard, and will the dual 4 core cpu with ~3133 Ghz be enougt?
I think in my case the games cant benefit from the other cpu. And the 1033Mhz sounds a bit low even it is ECC.

Can this configuration work?
Or can you recomend a good card that may fit into my configuration?

Fujitsu Celsius R670 workstation
-dual Xeon X5570 cpu in 3133 Ghz
-48Gb ecc ram 1033Mhz [this is the max Mhz for the mobo]
-Quadro FX 4800
-1000 W 85% PSU

Win7 sp1

I try to do some research but I cant find any usefull about my question.

Thank you!
N9

In some cases yes, but should still perform ok. Is basically very similar CPU to the I7 950, so you can check benchmarks for that.

I would be tempted to disable hyperthreading, so any games that can use more than 4 cores, will actually spread load to the second CPU rather than use the hyper threads.
