I have an ADATA 256GB SSD. After doing an optimize in the ADATA SSD software I clicked on update firmware. A message popped up saying firmware update not available in IDE mode, which I closed but then another one popped up asking if I wanted to upgrade to firmware 2. I foolishly clicked on YES even though the drive was working fine. After a few seconds got another message saying reboot to use the new firmware. Upon rebooting the drive was not detected in BIOS or Windows 10. I also tried booting from a live Linux usb and the drive did not show up there either.

What can I try from here?

Solution
Fixed. I powered down the system and removed the power plug for 30 seconds, plugged power back in and turned on and the drive showed up in BIOS. Booted Windows and now it's working again.
